It draws on Theunis Jacbosz for the area chosen, but Goos uses Hendrick Doncker’s 1659 map for a more accurate North American coastline and Joannes van Loon’s 1661 chart for South America. This resulted in the redrawing of New Jersey and Long Island, and the extension of the coastline of Brazil to the east.
