A map showing northern and central Africa, with the northern half of the Red Sea visible. The shape of the coastline of northern Africa, especially from Algeria to Mauritania, is more accurate than the Ptolemaic version of the map in the same volume. This is one of the 20 supplementary maps added by Waldseemüller.
