Map of the Pyrenees providing practical information about the mountains and a list of the different mineral and thermal water springs and baths. On the lower part is a diagram showing the main peaks and their heights and several tables, listing the principal passages and ports between France and Spain, the ‘most picturesque’ places and a list of mineral and thermal water springs with the main baths and their most common therapeutic uses.
The main natural baths are listed in four categories: sulfuric, acidic, ferruginous and salt water springs: Cauterets, Les Eaux Bonnes , Les Eaux Chaudes, Baréges, Bagneres de Luchon, Ax, Vernet-Le-Bains, Arles, La Preste, Molitg, Vinça, Escaldas, Thuez, Castera-Verduzan, Cambo, Camarde, Penticouse, Ussat, Audinac, Eneausse, Lavardens, Casteljaloux, Cours, Bagnères de Bigorre, Castera-Verduzan, Cambo, Sainte-Madeleine-de-Flourens, Le Boulou, Laroque, Tarascon, Bagnères de Bigorre, Capbern, Sainte-Marie, Barbotan, Foncirgue, Labarthe-Rivière, Dax, Tireis, Poullon, Préehac.
Aristide Michel Perrot (1793-1879) was a French geographer, cartographer and essayist, member of the Société Royale Académique des Sciences, and of the Société de Géographie. Some of his works include: County maps of Great Britain (1823), Atlas des Departments de la France (1825), Atlas des Routes de France (1826), Nouvel itinéraire portatif des Pays-Bas (1827), Petit atlas pittoresque des quarante-huit quartiers de la Ville de Paris (1834), Atlas Général de France (1837) or the Nouveau Manuel du Graveur (1844). Published in Paris, at Rue des Grands-Augustins, 1.

We were able to find two institutional examples, Bibliothèque nationale de France, Université catholique de l’Ouest, Angers, and no example appearing at auction.
