笔记

A fine copy of Turner’s Views of the south coast of England.

Joseph Mallard Willliam Turner (1775-1851) is perhaps the best-loved English Romantic artist. He became known as “the painter of light”, because of his increasing interest in brilliant colours as the main constituent in his landscapes and seascapes.

The present work contains, among others, views of Margate Land’s End, The Isle of Wight, Portsmouth, Plymouth, Rye, Hastings, Corfe Castle, Ramsgate, and Dover.
