Notes

The Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal, the wide street to the back of the Koninklijk Paleis was until the late nineteenth century a canal. A key below the view lists six prominent landmarks, these include the flower market, the pipe market, Nieuwe Kerk tower, and the Koninklijk Paleis.

Andries de Leth (1662-1731) and Hendrik de Leth (1692-1759) were engravers, publishers, and mapmakers working in Amsterdam during the first half of the eighteenth century.
