Notes
A chart of the Maluku Islands, an Indonesion archipelago in the Pacific Ocean. They were gradually taken from the Portuguese by the Dutch from the mid-sixteenth century, and at the time the atlas was made they were a major source of nutmeg, mace and cloves.
