Notes

First edition in Spanish of the second Ross expedition.

Although difficult to conceive, this edition in Spanish is absent from all of the libraries we have consulted, including the Collective Catalog of Spanish Bibliography; as we read in the "general preface to the work", the book was published in monthly fascicules which may contribute to its rarity. The second Ross expedition was privately funded in that the Admiralty refused to support him after the failure of the first expedition. The party survived four winters in the Arctic and Ross discovered the North Magnetic Pole.
