Notes
The work comprises of 42 engraved plans of French ports all drawn to the same scale; starting with Antwerp and then following France’s northern coast, down the Atlantic coast, and into the Mediterranean. The work rather strangely ends with a plan of Gibraltar.
Rare we are only able to trace two other examples coming up at auction in the past 25 years.
