Notes

Charming work evoking stories of the patron saints of England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, France, Russia, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Scandinavia, Iceland, and Denmark. Each story is a accompanied by an illustration by Lilian Tennant. Tennant (nee. Lancaster) was an illustrator, and one time actress, who first caartographic work was penned at the age of Fifteen, was supposedly intended to cheer-up her sick brother.
