Notes
Rare volume covering the Peloponnese, Euboea, and surroundings.
The present edition includes the plates from the fifth volume (titled “Repubblica di Venezia”) of the fourth part of “Teatro della Guerra”. The “Teatro” was intended as a series of representative plates, related to the countries which fought in the War of Spanish Succession (1701–1713), and was destined for the members of the ‘Accademia Cosmografica degli Argonauti’. In the end, the work did not materialize, however, some parts were published, such as the present copy. Several of the prints had already been published in editions by Coronelli.
